Wk 25 - Alma 17-22 I will Make an Instrument of Thee

Ammon and the sons of King Mosiah have all forsaken the throne in order to serve a mission to the Lamanites. Ammon is directed by the spirit to the land of Ishmael and requests to live with the Lamanites. He becomes King Lamoni’s servant, defends his flocks from robbers by dis-arming them, and teaches him the gospel.

Ammon later meets and fights with King Lamoni’s father but spares his life and asks that his brother Aaron and his companions be released from prison. King Lamoni’s father delivers Aaron and the others from prison and is converted to the gospel. Thousands of Lamanites join the church through the valiant efforts of the Nephite missionaries!

Nathan and Emily Siebach are joined by Bishop Phil Sirk as they discuss Alma 17-22 and share their insights into these chapters.

Wk 18 - Mosiah 11-17 A light That Cannot Be Darkened

King Noah has led his people into wickedness by dismissing the priests chosen by his father and appointing his own wicked ones. Abinadi comes forth crying repentance and urging the people to turn towards the Lord. When he is arrested and brought before the king, he stands boldly before King Noah and gives us some incredible insight on justice and mercy, why Christ is often referred to as the father and the Son, and is a beautiful example of declaring the truth even when you may feel all alone.

Abinadi stands as a type of Christ and his efforts ripple through the entirety of the Book of Mormon as his one and only convert, Alma, and his descendants keep the records.

In this week's episode Nathan and Emily Siebach are joined by Staci Packer as they discuss Mosiah 11-17.
