Wk 45 - Ether 6-11 That Evil May Be Done Away

Welcome to the Jaredite era!
Hundreds of years are covered in these chapters as we follow the reign of the righteous and wicked Jaredite kings.
We begin as the brother of Jared, his family and friends embark on their journey across the ocean in the barges they prepared. The Lord drives them forth with the winds and waves and keeps them protected during their travel.
When the Jaredites arrive to the promised land they are humbled and praise the Lord.
The brother of Jared grows old and asks his people what they want him to do before he passes away and the people request a king. The brother of Jared is hesitant to establish a king but ultimately does so.
Though there are times of peace and prosperity, the Jaredite history is plagued with years of wars, wickedness, intrigue and secret combinations as the throne is usurped by one power-seeker after another.
Prophets come forth and prophecy the complete destruction of the people unless they repent.
The prophet Ether is born in captivity.
